Geranium rotundifolium L.
First record: John Martyn, c. 1727
Geranium rotundifolium Martyn,1763,15.
Geranium rotundifolium was inserted on Mr Martyn's authority. I never found it in Cambridgeshire, at Oxford I met with it in abundance. Relhan,litt.1800b.
Old walls and waste places. Bab.1860,46.
In his first edition Relhan gives all these stations [Trinity Conduit Head; Paper Mills; White Wood] for the plant; omits it altogether in his second edition; and restores only that of White Wood in the third. It seems probable therefore that he found it between 1802 and 1820 in that place, and that it was lost before 1802 from the others. Bab.1860,46.
... before 1802 from the others. [added] or was it altogether a mistake and the plant to be omitted from this flora. Bab.ann.47..
It has occurred as a somewhat doubtful native in several places ... W. Walton. Bab.ann.47.
Not recorded for the county since 1820. Surely casual in this [Selwyn College] station? West,1898,251.
Only known at present in or near gardens at Chatteris and Newmarket;... Evans,1911,222.
