Grazed pasture, 268.980, R Payne, 7.1988; ? Stellaria graminea x palustris S. x glauciformis Bouvet, Grazing meadow, Whittlesey, 268.980, "I am not at all sure what this plant is. Most of the bracts seem to have 'marginal cilia', but they look odd (could they be fungal hypaea? - look with binoculars!) & in any case there is a central non-hyaline midrib on nearly all the bracts. The largest petals are larger than I associate with S. graminea, & they are verydeeply bifid. The vegetative shoots have narrowly-elliptical, graminea leaves. It looks like a good candidate for the hybrid S. x glauciformis Bouvet, which Stace (p.174) gives for France, Germany, Sweden & Russia but is not recorded in Britain. Is there more & is it sterile?"
